E-Rickshaw Platform
Driver enrollment, zone allotment, KYC verification, panic alerts, and live location tracking for e-rickshaw fleet operators and traffic authorities. Built in partnership with Parkadda India, the platform digitises permit issuance, route-zone enforcement, and on-street compliance from a single web + mobile stack. Field officers, fleet owners, and citizens get tailored apps backed by audit-ready records.

Overview
The E-Rickshaw Platform is a Parkadda India product engineered by Multiplexer Solution to bring order, safety, and transparency to one of India's fastest-growing last-mile transport segments. The stack covers driver enrollment and KYC, zone-wise permit allocation, panic alerts, live location tracking, and on-street compliance monitoring for traffic police and fleet aggregators.
Authorities issue digital permits with QR validation, route-zone restrictions, and renewal reminders. Drivers carry a single Android app for jobs, alerts, and emergency SOS. Aggregators see a control tower of active vehicles, complaints, and revenue. Citizens benefit from verified drivers and metered fairness.
Business context
E-rickshaws solved a real mobility gap but created policing pain: unverified drivers, route conflicts with arterial traffic, and informal payment loops. Manual permit registers cannot scale to tens of thousands of vehicles per city, and there is rarely a digital record to back enforcement actions.
A platform-led approach lets RTOs and traffic police shift from paper-based oversight to data-driven compliance with real geofences, panic alerts, and reproducible audit trails for AGM and citizen RTI queries.
Scope & deliverables
Driver mobile app
- Onboarding with Aadhaar / DL / vehicle RC capture and OTP verification
- Permit + zone display with daily route compliance signals
- One-tap SOS panic alerts routed to nearest police control room
- Earnings, complaints, and renewal reminders
Operator + authority web portal
- Bulk driver onboarding, KYC review queues, and document expiry tracking
- Live fleet map with zone heatmaps, idle alerts, and incident pins
- Permit issuance, renewal, and revocation workflows with audit logs
- Complaint inbox with auto-routing to operators or enforcement teams
Technical architecture
The mobile app is React Native (Android-first) with offline-first job queues for low-connectivity beats. A NestJS API tier handles auth, KYC verification adapters, and permit lifecycle, persisting to PostgreSQL with PostGIS for spatial queries. Live location streams flow over WebSocket channels into Redis-backed geo-indexes for sub-second control-tower refresh.
Panic events fan out via Twilio SMS, FCM push, and email to predefined incident handlers, with a permanent record of acknowledgement and resolution. Hardened token rotation and device binding deter SIM-swap or app-clone abuse.
Implementation phases
- Phase 1 — Policy alignment: Workshops with RTO/traffic police on permit categories, zone rules, and SOPs.
- Phase 2 — Pilot zone: 1,000–3,000 drivers in a designated city ward with parallel paper register run.
- Phase 3 — City rollout: Bulk enrollment camps, KYC partners, and dedicated helpline staffing.
- Phase 4 — Multi-city expansion: Reuse of policy templates, regional language packs, and analytics dashboards.
Outcomes & metrics
Authorities and operators track measurable gains within the first quarter:
- Digital permit coverage replacing manual register backlogs in pilot zones
- Panic alert acknowledgements within minutes versus untracked legacy calls
- Live map visibility for >90% of active driver sessions during peak hours
- Audit-ready complaint trails accepted by RTOs for enforcement actions
