Overview

The Challan & Traffic Enforcement App equips field officers with a hardened Android client for issuing e-challans with standardized violation codes, multimedia evidence, and geolocation metadata. Supervisors review pending cases, reject incomplete captures, and push approved records to upstream RTO or state traffic systems via secure APIs.

Offline-first design ensures continuity in low-connectivity corridors—common during highway patrols—while preserving tamper-evident hashes and device binding to deter fraudulent issuances.

Business context

Paper challan books are difficult to reconcile, prone to disputes, and slow to feed analytics on hotspot violations. Departments need consistent evidence quality for court readiness and public transparency initiatives.

Technical architecture

Role-based access control separates officer, supervisor, and admin functions; sensitive actions require step-up authentication. API gateways enforce rate limits and IP policies for integration endpoints.
