Attendance App
A mobile-first workforce attendance platform built for distributed teams across India, combining face-based punch, geo-fenced check-in, shift rules, and leave workflows in one app. HR and payroll teams receive audit-ready exports and integrations without manual register reconciliation. Offline tolerance ensures field and plant staff can mark attendance even when connectivity is intermittent.

Overview
The Attendance App is Multiplexer Solution’s enterprise mobility product for accurate, fraud-resistant time tracking. It replaces paper registers and standalone biometric terminals with smartphones that employees already carry. Face punch, optional geo-fences, and supervisor approvals create a tamper-evident trail from check-in to payroll export.
The solution supports complex shift calendars, grace periods, overtime rules, and leave balances synchronized with HRIS systems where APIs are available. Administrators configure policies per location, department, or contractor cohort without redeploying the mobile build.
Business context
Large employers in manufacturing, logistics, retail, and services struggle with buddy punching, proxy attendance, and delayed payroll cycles caused by manual consolidation. Traditional fingerprint devices are costly to maintain and difficult to scale across hundreds of sites.
Mobile attendance with liveness-aware face matching and GPS corroboration reduces leakage while improving employee experience—especially for roaming sales teams and on-site technicians who cannot return to a fixed terminal twice daily.
Scope & deliverables
Employee experience
- React Native apps for Android and iOS with guided face enrollment and punch flows
- Geo-fenced check-in/out with configurable radius and accuracy thresholds
- Leave requests, shift visibility, and push notifications for approvals
Administration & compliance
- Web admin for org hierarchy, policies, holidays, and exception handling
- Payroll-ready CSV/Excel exports and REST hooks for SAP, Zoho, and custom HRIS
- Audit logs with photo thumbnails, device metadata, and supervisor override reasons
Technical architecture
On-device face embeddings are compared against enrolled templates with liveness checks to deter photo spoofing. Geo-fencing uses fused GPS and network location with server-side validation to prevent trivial coordinate spoofing. A secure REST API tier stores punches, policies, and approval state in a relational database with row-level tenant isolation.
Offline queues buffer punches when connectivity drops; conflict resolution rules prefer server timestamps with explicit “pending sync” indicators in admin reports. Media uploads are encrypted in transit and at rest per enterprise security reviews.
Implementation phases
- Phase 1 — Policy design: Workshops with HR on shifts, grace, geo sites, and exception workflows.
- Phase 2 — Pilot cohort: 50–200 employees across 2–3 locations with parallel run against legacy registers.
- Phase 3 — Enterprise rollout: Phased location onboarding, helpdesk playbooks, and payroll cutover.
- Phase 4 — Integrations: HRIS connectors, SSO, and advanced analytics for absenteeism trends.
Outcomes & metrics
Enterprises adopting the platform commonly report operational and compliance gains within one payroll cycle:
- 60–80% reduction in manual attendance reconciliation hours per month
- Measurable drop in proxy-punch incidents where face + geo policies are enforced
- Same-day visibility into absenteeism for plant managers versus weekly register lag
- Employee NPS uplift from self-service leave and transparent punch history
Ongoing roadmap items include shift-swap workflows, contractor portals, and deeper analytics for workforce planning.
